Does anyone have experience with Harris-Tarkett "floating" engineered wood floors? We have two areas we are considering using this becauseit is a floating floor. The first is in our living/dining room on a slab. The original glue down hardwoods, installed in 1970, have started to come loose. If we replace with a floating floor, we have been told we will not have the glue problem again and will not have to install a plywood subfloor. The second spot we are considering the floors for is our upstairs, which has particle board sub-flooring over 1 X 4s. Using a floating floor here will (we have been told) eliminate the need to replace the particle board subfloor. Any feedback will be appreciated.
P.S. - I have been told that these floors have a thick enough top layer that they can be refinished. Is this true?
