I used Hardibacker 1/4" with Aquabar B behind it, even though I had greenboard already on the walls. On the floor, I too have a wood subfloor, I used a new product called Ditra. I can tell you that, to my knowledge, none of the cementous board are structural and will not give added strength or correct the problem in your floor.
