routering laminate countertop

Posted by dexter on April 28th, 2002 03:43 PM

Sorry, I'm just learning to use my computer and this site and have already asked this question, but didn't see it listed, so here goes again. I've covered a shelf and when routering the top portion of it, the router bit scrapes away some of the laminate on the edge. I was told to put W-D40 on the ball-bearing (done), Put vaseline on edge(done).nothing helps. I'm using a double flute/laminate flush bit. What am I doing wrong?
