Any one of the earlier posts could be the thing... It sounds like the bit you are using is N/G. Is the side laminate being injured at the cutter area or where the roller touches? If it is where the blade hits then you might have the wrong bit setup or your router is tilted, or the edge isn't 90* or it is set too deep. If it is where the roller rides then there might be adhesive build up on it or it might need to be taken apart and cleaned. I believe there is special lubricant for these bearings that is NOT wd 40. If you have the right bit it should actually leave a tiny bit extra hanging there that I always use my chrome/alloy ski-edge sharpening (swix) file and zap off any excess at a slight angle to "ease" the edge.
