Greetings Tim, I am not a plumber, (as a matter of fact I am going to post a plumbing question next), but I see no reason to snake a vent pipe unless it is glogged. However, the customer will probably not believe you and pay someone else to do this instead. I would find out if there were really a need and go from there. Good luck,
