How to use seamer to seal linenolium floor for kitchen.

Does anyone know how to use a seamer for kitchen floors (linenolium) to connect 2 pieces and not be able to see the seam. And I want to place linenolium over the old hard tiles - is there any preparation I should do to make this work? Or any other suggestions for seaming the two pieces? Thanks.
