These stains are usually permanent. They are caused by a chemical reaction of the "rubber" backing of throw rugs on the lino surface. Other than replacing that part of the floor, the only thing you can do is yell and scream at the manufacturer of the carpet and the store that sold it to you. Good Luck! Dodgeman
