acoustical ceilings

I have a 1920 house, and need to soundproof the basement ceiling from upstairs noise. I plan to insulate, but would like to use some type of ceiling that would: 1. provide additional insulating value;
2.be easily removeable in case of repairs;
3.not look commercial (i.e.,drop ceiling) but more in keeping with the style of the house.
