This is not as easy as people think. If there is a light there it is VERY unlikely that there is a fan box installed. You MUST have a box rated "fan support" in order to attach a fan safely. Installing the box is generally the hardest part of the job. Call an electrician for proper installation and expect to spend anywhere from $175 to $300 depending on the exact requirements of your job.
