the drive mechanism may have been jammed or may not have been engaged properly onto the piece that is attached to the garage door so either the motor and mechanism was stuck or was driving freely without taking the door up and down while running. Dont know when you had the failure to operate if you heard motor running but no door drive. dont recall if you had said it went up or down five inches and would stop or what but glad it is fixed for now. Yes. it is a great feeling to solve a problem on your own with a little help and know how from this great board or experts or DIYers. LJ
