I have this musty smell in my 'new' home I cannot tell where it's coming from? I don't have a basement. There is this little 'storage' room under the stairs and my daughters closet upstairs both of them have the strongest musty smell. I sometimes can smell it in my kitchen by the sink. I cannot figure this out and before I go through the huge expense of changing out carpet and pad, I would like to see if there is something else I can do? I should mention that the carpet in the house is in excellent condition. The home has been vacant for approx. one year, however the previous owner's kept all utilities going. I just don't get this?
