I will be replacing the T1-11 siding on my house this fall. The guy that inspected my home told me to predrill and use screws instead of nails. What kind of screws should I use? Should I cover the screw holes with wood putty before staining? I realize the importance of applying primer to all sides and the edges. I also understand the importance of caulking around windows, doors, etc. Should caulking be added to the overlapping portion of each sheet as well? Is there a flashing I should add above doors and windows? I plan on trimming the windows and doors with 1x2's. Is there a website out there that would help me with my questions? Thanks, Dave
