I have installed a lot of T1-11 on many different projects,many different builders,and never have used screws.2 1/2" ring shank splitless zinc coated(Maze double dipped)nails will do the job if as Steve said you hit the studs,especially on the seams.Z flashing a must on any horizontal break.You could use screws if you have the time and extra $$$ but heck you could use screws to put roof shingles or vinyl siding on but why would you?The only problem I have seen with T1-11 is woodpeckers.If there are any voids in the plys in the siding there is a good chance some have larve in them and the woodys will find them.Depends where you live though.Home inspector huh,....I'm not going there.Luck
