insulation

I am currently repeairing walls im my home that have been destroyed by termites.
The walls were originally insulated with fiberglass insulation.
I need to replaece the insulation- what wasn't destroyed by termites is mouldy.
I live in Louisiana and have been told that fiberglass insuation is not very effective
for this hot climate. Any ideas on where I could find some info on the different
types of insulation avalable and how well they rate in different climates?
