Wallpaper on Unprimed Wall Posted by Tracy on July 24th, 2002 09:55 AM
I have stripped alot of wallpaper, multiple layers, etc., but never from unprimed drywall. I have done a 4 x 6 ft area with a paper tiger, chemical stripper and hot water, and a razor. So far the wall damage has been minimal, but it will take FOREVER. I am literally pulling off 2 inch pieces of paper at a time, it took almost 3 hours to do this small space. It is only a breakfast room and should have been completely stripped in 3 hours! Would a steamer be better, or would it damage the wall from all of the steam/moisture? Have you ever heard of Wallwik? Is there a better way or am I just in it for the long haul?
