I have laid a floor using 4 x 6 lumber cut into pieces about one inch thick ( pieces are 4x 6 x 1inch) Then you lay the floor similar to ceramic tile. Really any pattern you want to use will work. Then you apply a wood preservative to the floor. Then the grout is made from Epoxy and the saw dust from that is left from cutting the wood.
