My husband and I are in the process of thinking about building a house. We are looking at blueprints and doing a little research and are wondering weather we should use a crawlspace or a slab. Our local plumber advised us not to get a slab because he said if something ever goes wrong with the plumbing you have to literally drill your floor up and it is quite expensive and a big mess. However a few builders informed us that slabs are a lot cheaper and quicker to build. Can anyone give any input on this? and how much cheaper is it (and if it is worth doing?)
