My daughter says that vinegar and baking soda are the females answer to duct tape. In this case, one answer is baking soda. Get a box or two and sprinkle it on the carpet. Wait for an hour or so and vaccuum. By the way, if the problem is from pets, the answer is vinegar. Henry
