I started out cleaning the counters with lysol kitchen counter spray. Let that dry. Sand lightly, and wipe off. Then apply Red Devil oil latex stain blocker/ primer, paint 2 coats.
Let dry in between coats. Then I decided on several colors to use and pattern if any. I chosed to paint a marble design on mine.
I use black, white, marroon. Gathered materials, and was ready to start my project. Working quickly, this paint tends to set up fast. I used acrylic Red Devil Gloss Polyurethane oil Enamel colors. They have so many colors to choose from.
You will need to clean your brushes with a solvent though. Do not mix acrylic and oils together, you will have problems later. If you want a more glossier shine, then apply a polyurethane, you will need to ventilate your area well.
Good luck and if you have any questions, don't hestitate to write.
