to allow you to roll the portabe as is into the the new cut out for the dishwasher. Just make it a relatively tight fit and it will almost seem like it is built in. you never mentioned the type of counter top you have ,,,this may or may not be feasible........... but you can give Chris' suggestion a try---the key will still be how much rough opening height will the stripped down conbertible dish washer need vs. how much space you have under your existing counter top.??
