since the hot/warm humid air from the tub or shower will tend to rise to the ceiling the most ..and you can run the vent duct to a soffit imder an eave. this will save from making a unnecessary hole in the roof for the vent cap/roof jack. wall vent thru the side wall will work too bt will be less effective
