We have just recently installed wooden gutters on our 1948 renovated cape cod house; replacing the original wood gutters. We used douglas fir, which comes in 2 sizes, 3x4 and 4x5. They were suppled by a lumber store in the area, Southeastern Massachusetts (Goodrich Lumber), at a cost of approx. $7.00/lin. ft. We are now debating between copper or aluminum downspouts, 3" round.
