I have a 100 year old house with hardwood floors throughout. Unfortunately they squeak inncessantly, especially in the main (gound floor). Due to extensive basement renovations, the entire ceiling is open. What would be the best solution to get rid of the noise in the floor above? Screw incredible numbers of wood screws into the plowed and tongue sub-floor and half way through the hardwood floor on top of it? Screw and equally impressive number of wood screws into the 2X10 joists below and into the sub-floor? Do both? Or, live with the noise and
revell in the character of my old Victorian home?
