I am replacing my older Jamestown pellet stove. Question is... should i consider having a fireplace insert put in. My current Jamestown is sitting about 3 feet in front of my fireplace and the fireplace is shielded with a mesh screen. I am wondering if by placing the new stove closer into the fireplace (using an insert), would i lose the efficency of the stove? Using a fireplace insert would the stove heat the room as efficient or should the stove set more out in the room?
