I have recently installed a pine plank ceiling (4" x 8', end-matched tongue-and-groove knotty spruce), and I am having a lot of difficulty finding a finish to apply to it. I'm looking for something that I can wipe on with a brush, and in one or two coats will stain/seal at the same time (with no sanding). Something that will make it look like a rustic, antique pine finish. I have tried Zysser Amber Shellac, and am looking for something slightly more brown than orange or yellow.
Can anyone provide any suggestions?
