use foam to make a model and get the curves "just right." Then the carpenters can follow your model and build a strong structure to support a heavy tub full of water, tile, etc.
I once built some curved walls and steps at a museum and it is very time-consuming work. There is a special plywood that you can buy that easily bends around curves. You need to laminate several layers to get strength.
