Try Go-Jo hand cleaner and elbo greese. It will probally take the paint off aluminum siding. I just finished a similar job for a sealing company,s Insurance. We had to replace the garage door. We cleaned the Vinyl siding with go-jo. Check with your contractor to see if they have insurance, they just might pay.
