The difference between vinyl and wood frames in regards to energy efficiency is minimal. You will loose more through the thermo units. Watch which type of low E glass you are sold (soft coat or hard coat) and if argon is an option also watch the design of the thermo units as many thermo units lose the argon gas over a period of years, which can result in thermo units imploding or the seals failing.
