Window spring repair/replace

I have aluminum thermal break windows in my home that were installed in 1985. The problem I am having is one of the springs has gone bad, and I can't seem to figure out how to remove it. The window is fixed in the track and there is an aluminum angle over the spring that is screwed on from the inside of the angle. Please help Was this post helpful? Yes: or No:
