I would like to remove the wall between our family room and our unused living room. I know that it is a load bearing wall. It is about 15 feet in length and has a standard height ceiling. There are electrical outlets and one vent on the wall. I obviously will have to hire someone to do this but I do not know where to start. Is this something an insured handyman can do? What am I looking at for costs? Anyone out there that has done this and can give me some insight? I plan to do all of the work myself once the header and structural aspects are done (such as the flooring, wiring, etc...
