Lou,when you remove the brick,you will notice a 4 1/2" or so ledge of concrete that the brick sat on.You will need to divert water away from this ledge or it will get into your house.You can either start your siding on a piece of wood cut with a bevel to get water from the siding to flow off the foundation,or a piece of metal flashing to do the same job.Or cut the conc. on a bevel so water runs off.Any way you do it ,this must be addresed.Luck
