Vinyl Siding Info

Looking to install Vinyl siding on a brick house with about 400-500 sq. ft. of flat board siding. Also want to do sofit and facia.

Questions:

1) What is a good resource for the basics on how to install.

2) If installing over decent, flat existing wood siding, do I need to use with furring strips or can I install directly over existing siding.

3) Is it better to remove existing siding (if I use furring strips, the windows will look funny).

4) I presume I can install over existing facia and sofits. Any hints on what to look out for?
