Kitchen tile backsplash

My ever handy husband is making a tile backsplash in our kitchen. Unfortunately, he forgot that something has to be done with the outlets so that they are flush with the tile. He has not yet grouted but if anyone can give me some insight into this I would be eternally grateful! I hate an unprofessional job but living with the tool man, I often have to endure it! What are our options???
