this metal tang type piece is pretty self forward in installation. You have a metal tang that fits in a prescribed slot and the rubber washer attached is compressed when you tighten down on the bolt which presses the angle adapter to the housing. Is the rubber compromised? Is there some debris behind the rubber between the housing that is causing a bulge and therefore a leak? Like LJ stated, are you forcing any sideways action on the adapter? I would take it apart and start over and do it slowly and deliberately and see what is happening.
