floor paint, paint floor Posted by Eliz. Blodgett on August 28th, 1998 09:26 AM
My husband and I just bought a house built in 1909. Terribly decorated, we ripped up the carpeting upstairs. Unfortunately, somone had carelessly let paint fall and drip as it pleased while they painted the walls. Furthermore, some of the boards have molded and need to be replaced. My first question is, what is the easiest way to remove these paint drippings (I also want to use the least noxious chemicals and will sacrifice my time in order to do it)? The second question is, I'm just plain scared to sand the floors myself. It sounds like a lot of work for a novice and risky too. I don't want to ruin the floors in order to become an expert in sanding. I've been thinking of painting the floors, perhaps stenciling a border as well. Is this much easier? What is the process? Thank you for your assistance. Elizabeth
