Thank you for your quick response! I was thinking of lifting up the paint drippings because they bug me and I know, whatever I do, it will be a slow process. I had thought replacing pieces of the floor would be easy, and not a custom job, so that's a wrench thrown in. Once I got up the paint dripping and replaced some of the floor, *then* I was going to paint and stencil it (if it was an easier process than sanding, etc.). My husband wants us to sand, to save money. I have thought of getting a couple of pros to come look at the floors. If we decided to go with the sanding, which would you suggest: pros or do-it-yourselfers? Thanks again.
