Trash Compactor

I have a whirlpool TU900QPDB0 compactor (4 years old)...
Ram goes down, compacts, and returns to up position.....but motor will not stop at top of stroke...If you press off button, motor stops...press On button at this point..ram begins compaction cycle again...in other words, the motor direction is reversing after pressing Off button, then On button again..but the motor is not shutting off at top of stroke....I have checked the Top Limit Directional Switch, and all continuities appear correct per the "Tech Sheet"...but I still suspect the Top Limit Directional Switch is the culprit....
