Yes. Thay are expensive. However, I found a couple hoods that are under $2,000. Check out GE and KitchenAid. As well, Fridgidaire makes one. As for the idea of converting a wall mount to an island mount . . . I believe the body and design are different. It may look pretty strange in the end if you got it to work.
