...although the best and most effective way to remove the adhesive is to scrape it off with a sharp razor scraper, being careful not to damage the plywood in the process. Even if you are careful it is inevitable that some gouging will occur, and this should be patched with a cementitious patching compound (ie. Mapei Planipatch) and then sanded smooth. Have fun!
