Replacing floor

I have a 1795 sq. ft. Mobile Home and I'm wanting to lay down a strong floor but I'm not lookng forward of taking out the old pressed wood floor.
I was wondering if I could just lay 1/4" or 1/2" plywood over the exiting floors instead of taking the old floors out.
