Glueing Hardwood Floors Posted by Kyle on October 17th, 2002 11:12 AM
I own an apt. (8th floor) in a high-rise bldg in NYC, so I have concrete floors. I recently removed a wall between my kitchen and dining room and want to have a level floor between the two rooms. The dining room has parquet floors, directly laid on the concrete with hot asphalt. I don't have any problems with the humidity and buckling. The kitchen floor was linoleum, which I removed down to the concrete.
3/4 inch flooring would match the height of the existing flooring, so I am inclined to go with the hardwood. I would want to glue it to maintain the same height.
Any recommendations for glueing, techniques, etc.
I am planning to do this myself.
