I agree with Mary. If you disliked your brick enough to paint it who would want to return to it!
My brick, both inside and out, had to have been the ugliest brick ever made. Not to mention the original owners thought it would be lovely to put a reddish/orange martor with dark brown and gold brick. Mine has been painted for several years. I live in Southeast Texas so we have both heat and humidity.
