I agree with you, Mike. Last year I installed seven American Craftsman Windows (8500 series) from the Home Depot. Today I just ordered another six. Each window I bought was between $140 and $160. I also opted for the gas to be inserted between the two panes of glass. That certainly beats the price that I was quoted at $300 per window last year. FYI: I have a total of 26 windows in my house that needs replacement.
These windows are also easy to install. If they weren't I wouldn't install them myself.
