I've heard of electronic cat doors that are activated by a transmitter the cat wears in its collar. It only unlocks when your cat is near (so, if your cat sleeps near the door, it won't be as effective).
I investigated this for our cat, but she refuses to wear a collar, so we just have to close the cat door at night, every night, or we get "visitors," including other cats.
