Use Harris Tarkett Longstrip!!! Posted by C. Bissell on September 22nd, 1998 06:55 PM In reply to Wood floor installation by Pau in TN on September 22nd, 1998 11:10 AM [Go to top of thread]
I had the same situation. First, the bad news: Bruce and other manufacturers indicate that installation of either nail down or glue down on this type of subfloor would invalidate the warranty. There is a better soluttion, however. Harris Tarkett makes a DYI friendly hardwood product that is a floating floor, similar to Pergo. It is easy to install, looks great, and can be refinished in the future. I just finished installing a bedroom (took the better part of a Sunday) and will be doing the rest up upstairs soon. Best of all, you can get this product in two colors at Lowe's for less than $4.00 psf for all materials.
