I'm looking at several older homes, some over 50 years old with pier & beam foundations. We're relocating from Houston to Midland Texas, which is quite dry but has dust storms. Is it really just a horrible idea to consider such an old house? Is slab better than pier & beam? I really like the older houses for looks but is it a sound investment?
