I want to try the crackle paint technique. I have an old buffet, very large, covered with a wood grain veneer. I also have another table in the veneer contact paper finish. I love the shapes but hate the "fake" wood look. Can I crackle paint these two items? Is there a special technique for the veneer and the veneer contact paper? Would another technique be better for this suface? I'm afraid the veneer is so shiny and "slick" that the paint won't "stick".
