I have a house that is about 50 years old. It has lathe and plaster.
I have totally removed the lath and plaser from the upstairs and insulated the walls and replaced the plaser with drywall. The attic has about two feet of batt insulation of R-19.
My concern is the down stairs in the living room, dinning room, and the floor. I drywalled the walls but did not take out the lathe and plaster. Also the basement is not air tight so the floors are cold. I thought about spraying some type of insulation in the basement on the ceiling to stop the draft and blow insulation in the two rooms outside walls. What would you recommend for the type of insulation and a complany that would do this for me. Estimate of cost? two rooms are 400 to 500 sq ft. Floor is 40x20
Thanks.
