Mold on Dry Wall

Hello folks,
I recently purchased a townhome. The property inspection indicated black mold on a drywall in one of the storage cabinets (I have a washer and dryer behind the wall, and one of the faucets must have been leaking before).
Would replacing the drywall be enough or should I get the water damage specialist to contain the mold first? The minimum charge by these specialists is $500 and they refuse to put back the drywall once they take it out!
Is this standard procedure or am I being ripped off?
Thanks!
