Cathe, the best way for you to replicate your existing wall texture is to get some cardboard, spackle and a mess of tools that you think you might be able to use and play for a while. For tools, you can use such household items as an old stiff paint roller, dull kitchen knives, paint brushes and anything else you can think of that might help you replicate the texture. When you have messed with the spackle on the cardboard enough that you are satisfied that you can replicate the texture, then start doing the same thing on the walls. Make this a fun challenge and it will be a fun project. :o)
On the bigger holes, you might want to put some spackle in the holes first so you don't have to do anything but the texturing on the last application. Henry
